The Evangelist is from the school of the Master of Adelaide of Savoy in the 15th century. It was painted in the Loire Valley of France. The image itself is framed in gold and depicts the Evangelist thoughtfully working at his bench. The natural wood colors with the vibrant colors in his robe and the sky and flowers show the artist's skill. The framed, double-matted picture measures 13" by 10". The miniature is 2-1/2" by 3-1/2". Excellent condition. It comes with a letter of authenticity
